This item is printed on a premium 4.3oz heather gray athletic fit men's t-shirt.  This item is an athletic fit and runs slim on the sleeves and torso.  If you are in-between sizes, need more room in the torso, or refer a more full fit, sizing up would be suggested.

I didn’t care for how thin and see thru the shirts were.

Brian I am sorry you are not pleased. I have been using the same garments for about eight years and have had very few complaints about the quality specifically them being thin. They are noted as being athletic fit 4.3oz material which is typically premium fit weight tee compared to a 100% heavy weight cotton tee.
